@bradsgirl:  No advice really. But, *big big big huge internet hugs* It sounds like just something you will have to let him deal with until she directly starts to affect your children, or puts your relationship in jepoardy.

@bradsgirl:  Just one thought on the family picture thing. As a child of divorced parents I plan on having a picture of just me, my mom, and my dad at my wedding because they are my parents. I honestly don’t see anything wrong with one picture that way.

@Spade504:  I agree with this statement. I think what your husband did was, in fact, a little odd. What is so wrong about a child wanting to include both of her biological parents in a photo on a special occasion? No matter what happens, those two will always be her “family”, divorced or not, on good terms or not.

I am going to assume that there are many other instances of conflict and tension and that this last example you chose to share with us was just a bad one.

The fact of the matter is that most of the children involved are adults. They can think for themselves. They are obviously going to hear two sides of every story – hers and their father’s. They can make up their own minds about things. Sometimes they will agree with the father, sometimes with the mother.

I really don’t see what the issue is, honestly. This kind of behavior is to be expected when a couple with children divorces after 20 years together. Unfortunately, everyone is going to have to learn to deal with this. It sucks, but that’s life.
