This is probably a really unusual thing, but since my engagement, and more frequently over the last week or so I have been having terrible dreams about things happenng to my ering!?
They tend to be things like I look down and the diamond is missing and I can’t find it, or some of the stones on the pave fall out, last night’s was particularly bad, the whole setting for the large diamond broke off from the band, the join just disintergrated, then all of the pave started falling apart and I just was left with it in pieces in my hand!
I know it’s really silly but I wake up feeling a little stressed! After asking advice when I first got my ering I have been putting it back in the box to shower/sleep/cook/so dishes etc so as to be careful, but unsure why this keeps happening?? Any ideas??

@FutureMrsMarlow: I think you are just nervous. This sounds weird but I keep my ring on for security. I only take it off when I go to work. I also take it off for dishes and showering but that is mainly because I want to keep it’s new cleanness (?) going as long as possible. I also have a special ring tree that I use to put it on when I do take it off. Find a special container (not the box) that looks pretty and use that so when you do take it off you don’t have to worry subconsciously about where it is. Jewelry is more sturdy than you think. And, should any part of it break it is always repairable. Relax and enjoy your beautiful ring!

@FutureMrsMarlow: this sounds a bit like the dream where your teeth fall out, or something keeps breaking. I used to have the teeth dream all the time and like your ring it felt like they were disintegrating and little bits came away. I was told that kind of dream is an anxiety dream, which makes sense if your feeling stressed when you wake up.

I agree that it sounds like you’re just nervous. I haven’t had weird ring dreams but I do get weird wedding dreams sometimes.

I’ve had a couple dreams like that! And I STILL wake up every morning and grab my finger first thing, to make sure it’s still there.
I think, for me, it’s just that I’ve never had anything so expensive or fancy before and it stresses me out! Getting my ring insured helped, but I still have these freak out moments.
I’ve only been engaged for a month, so I think that the more I wear it (and get used to wearing it), these dreams and feelings of anxiety will diminish. I bet the same is true for you!

@nber0815: I am the same, I have never ever had anything is expensive! I’ve only been engaged 3 weeks and my family is coming up for my engagement part tomorrow night for the first time since being engaged so haven’t yet even seen the ring! Must just be a combo! I don’t feel nervous or anxious about marrying my fiance at all its just these dreams!

I’ve had recurring dreams about the diamonds on the band falling out or the center stone crumbling. I think it just means we don’t want anything to happen to them.

I don’t have a ring yet, haha, but the other night I had a dream I went with my best friend to Disney World and when I was there, I was checking out Tacori rings at one of the park shops, LOL. I was asking this guy all about Moissy, and he said they had the BEST QUALITY ones, but when he pulled them out they were lime green! Hah. I also had another dream about my SO giving me one, but it kept shrinking every time I looked at it. 😛

I think it must just be something in the back of your mind. Possibly even from reading stories on the bee about these sorts of things happening.
I’ve always wanted a big blingy ring, but I have short fingers, so there was a time I was like “dang I hope the ring doesn’t look to big on me…” Then later on I had a dream where SO got me a diamond bigger than my head and I was trying to wear it on my hand!

@FutureWifeyV: That’s so funny, it’s strange the dreams we have eh!?
I think a lot must just be worrying about the ring and it breaking or something haening to it, sure it will pass, not had it a month yet! Also going to aris next week, although it’s insured I think the thought of something happening to it out of the country is freaking me out to!
