My grandfather remarried and had a son who is now 14,I am 24 and I get a little uncomfortable when people refer to him as my uncle, but these things happen..I would focus on the positive, you will be having your own beautiful baby here in 6months!! 🙂 Congrats and good luck with everything!

I’ll go ahead and put this out there — if I were in this situation, something about it would make me feel like my thunder had been stolen. We all want our parents to be so excited for us. For me that was one of the most fun aspects of being pregnant! You picture your mother and father doting on a new little baby — it just seems like you’re participating in the circle of life and the natural order of things. If I learned my Mom was suddenly pregnant (not gonna happen because my parents are extremely done with their own kids), I think I would feel that somehow my parents weren’t as joyful about their grandchild to come. I know it’s not the most rational or noble sentiment, but that’s how I’d feel (at least for a while) if I were you.
That said, all new life is a joy. And I can only imagine how happy your stepmother will be if she can conceive. Your baby might have a close friend for life (and he or she can just call him a cousin, no need to be technical about it, right?)
So I agree with everyone — focus on the positive. But I think I get why it’s hard.

My aunt is younger than my cousin (her sister’s son). It just happens that way sometimes, although it is an odd situation to be in (the same aunt went to high school with my sisters husband) its funny how life works sometimes. Look at father of the bride II…
