We have been TTC since December and I had one month of thinking I was PG because I had some spotting that I thought might be implantation bleeding. Turns out it wasn’t. Not sure what it was. I was on BC (pill) for 6 years before.
Anyway, this month I had that same spotting, but it is accompanied by some serious heartburn for the last week! I get occasional heartburn, but never more than once in a while after a meal. I feel like my heart rate is speeding along sometimes and there was no coffee involved. Also, I feel really bloated and I can smell everything. Usually it is Darling Husband that smells stuff and I can’t. Last time I had the spotting AF came 5 days after it started. This time it is 7 days after the spotting and no AF.
My cycles vary from 25 to 35 days. Based on my app, O was Feb 20th and AF is due on Thursday March 6th. Not always a reliable source, but it’s something to look at. I hate to POAS and see that negative. I want to wait to make sure it will be BFP if there really is something there. Since it’s only 11 DPO, I don’t want to test yet. Plus those tests are expensive!
I want to wait until at least Monday to test if AF doesn’t show up. I would love to discuss it with Darling Husband, but he gets his hopes up so much that I don’t want him to get false hope. He’s the one who blurted out at Christmas dinner with his family that we are TTC!! ( I gave him dagger eyes for that one for the rest of the night!)
Just looking for some support and ideas here. Has anyone else had these symptoms? Does this sound like I might be PG, or just reading too much into stuff? Mother Nature is a cruel lady sometimes and likes to keep us guessing!

@anna4041: Sorry hun symptom spotting is horribly cruel. We’ve been TTC for 7 cycles now and there have been 2 cycles where I am CONVINCED I am pregnant and alas wasn’t and still aren’t. You could wait to POAS until AF is due or even 1 day past AF and I’m sure you’ll get your answer, try to distract yourself because it can really consume you.. Good luck 🙂

some cycles i feel every symptom in the book and others i feel nothing. i’ve spotted for 2-4 days prior to AF every cycle since starting TTC.
so i would say possible. you won’t know until you test or AF comes.
i am not a POAS addict and wait until AF arrives. i’m on cycle 5 and have not POASed in the last 3.

When I was pregnant my sense of smell was off the charts but there were quite a few other symptoms to go with it. I think you are doing the right thing to wait and test. Its hard not to get your hopes up but good luck!!

Hmm… hard to say.
I would wait until AF is late then test. Personally, I did not get symptoms like increased smell, acid reflux and shortness of breath until I was about 5-6wks preggo. I totally understand that it’s hard not to get your hopes but good luck!

@anna4041: Are you taking your BBT and checking your cervical mucus & position? That will really narrow your O day down; apps are not that reliable.

symptoms of PMS are very similar to pregnancy. i got pregnant 2 cycles after stopping bc and the first cycle i had more “symptoms” than i did when i was actually pregnant.
eta: wait a few days and test!

@lealorali: I am checking CM and I think we are close to BD during O based on what the lady doc said. We also have been hitting the every other day mark. I haven’t gotten to the point of BBT. I don’t want to stress about it that much and consume my every waking minute (literally…lol). I heard too much stress can make it harder in the first place. I had a few friends who got PG after acupuncture!

@anna4041: That’s fine if you think BBT will stress you out more, but the way you worded that makes it sound like you think people who do temp stress about it or think about it all the time. That’s not at all true. For many, taking their BBT takes about 2 minutes and that’s it. I’m not being snarky, but it’s also not a fair implication.

@Mrs.LemonDrop: I hear you on that. I’m just not sure I want to go that far yet, or maybe I am in complete denial of not thinking about this 24/7. I don’t judge anyone who is BBT. I just really like to sleep and when the alarm does go off I usually jump out of bed. Plus my routine is so different based on my job that I never get up at the same time or even in the same place. I think it would be useless info because it would not be accurate. We have only been trying for 3 cycles. If it gets to the 6 cycle point and no BFP, I will really make an effort to change. In the meantime, we were hoping to let nature take its course.

If there is enough HCG in your body to be causing pregnancy symptoms, then there is enough to be detected on a pregnancy test. I would test if I were you!
That said: symptom spotting is a b!tch. There were many cycles I convinced myself I was pregnant based on symptoms. The two cycles I got BFPs I didn’t have any symptoms until after I got a positive test!
