I had someone tell me my trial smelled good. I didn’t know if I should be happy that he thought i smelled good but the first thing that came to mind was two dogs and one being sniffed out lol

Once when I was getting my nails done, the owner told me I had “a beautiful, all-American skin tone”. What that means, I don’t know. But hes a sweet guy, so I am assuming he meant it as a compliment.
I’ve had multiple people tell me I look like Snow White because I have very dark hair but am also very pale lol
I spent my whole college years being called taylor swift by many strangers at least a weekly basis … Hey girl that looks like taylor swift …. Etc” ummm i have long curly blonde hair thats about it if u ask me …. Now that she had short straight hair nobody says anything (also I’m no longer in the “brilliant” ever inquisitive college community)<br />
I get “You’re pretty for a black girl” a lot. I won’t beging to explain how that annoys me
A lady once asked me if I was pregnant which I was NOT.
I said, No “I’m not pregnant just fat”
Her response ” Oh I’m sorry, But you have a very cute belly”
I said ” Ughhh ok ???”
I’m a high school teacher and have a reputation for being a pretty tough teacher. I have met several students’ parents on conferences who have told me that I am much younger than they expected me to be. I’m not sure if that’s a compliment or not but apparently, only old, jaded teachers can be tough.
One Christmas Eve in my early 20s I was working at the fitness facility. I was in recovery for a bad accident that left me with a neck injury and an ABI. I was doing pretty well by this point, but I’d gained a ton of weight (I wasn’t allowed to work out at all and I was eating my feelings during recovery!) I was all dressed up for a party after work and one of our regulars came up to wish me a Merry Christmas. English was not his first (probably not even his second) language and he was still learning. His English had actually been improving rapidly over the last few months. He looked at me and said “So pretty. So plump. So pretty and plump.”
I did manage to laugh it off. I knew he meant it as a compliment. And I never thought that I would take ‘plump’ as a positive thing. But I did, because that’s truly how he meant it. A year later he never would have said anything like that.
Haha all of the OBGYN related compliments remind me of something my doctor said. I was getting my annual pap smear done a year or two ago and I am always sooo tense and cringing the entire time because I hate how uncomfortable it feels, and she told me to try to relax. She was feeling around on the inside and around my lower stomach area at the same time, and she said, “well you can tell your fiance that I said you have really strong ab muscles!” as she could barely feel anything through me being so tense haha. Lol my doctor is the best.. I love her so much!
Over the years, I’ve been told I look like a couple different celebrities – some merited and some not. The weirdest one was Julia Roberts because I look nothing like her, yet 3 different people who never met each other said that to me within a 2 year span. My grandma, my high school (senior year) boyfriend, and my college roommate’s dad. It was so weird.
On the other hand, the most insulting (IMO) celebritity doppleganger I’ve been assigned is Christina Ricci. No. Just no, please.
In case anyone is wondering, the merited doppleganger is Rachel Leigh Cook. I’ve been getting it ever since She’s All That came out.
MissCountryGirl727 – it is such a common theme to all my compliments :p I probably just looked unwell each time I recieve a compliment haha
🙁 sorry I don’t know how to tag someone in the comment
