It’s supposed to be bad luck to go past a cemetary on your wedding day. I have no idea why, but there it is.

-I took many pics in my dress beforehand

-I have let a few people try on my ring AND I tried on another girls ring before I got engaged (well before, like almost a whole year before)

-It rained from the time I woke up (6:45 AM) to about 3:45 PM on my wedding day – so I guess I have years of good luclk?

-I passed a cemetary the day AFTER my wedding!

Of course there is the superstition that its bad luck to see the groom beforehand.

Seeing a pig run across the road on your way to the church is bad luck. And the first person to fall asleep on the wedding night will die – I think we fell asleep simultaneously!!

The superstition I’ve heard and am actually buying into is that pearls bring bad luck, you won’t find a single pearl or anything that looks like a pearl on me during the wedding. And I actually love pearls, so it was tough picking out jewelry.

@kellifromkeller: I heard that about pearls too. That if you were real pearls on the day of your wedding you will cry the entire time. I think this might be true because one of my friends wear real pearls her grandmother got her and she was balling from the time she put them on until she took them off in her hotel suite. She cried at the drop of a pin! My other friend told me about this after our friends wedding.

In some cultures it is bad luck for siblings to marry in the same year. My eldest sister and I married in the same year during my first marriage and I ended up in divorce. I didn’t believe the superstition and I still don’t. But I sure hope my other sister doesn’t decide to marry next year, just in case.
