I had a bridal salon worker say to me as I walked in, on time, for my 1 pm appointment, “Oh, I just tried to call you to see if you were coming, I really wanted to go out to lunch.”
??? Really you prefer a sandwich to a sale? And why did you make this appointment for lunchtime if it is such a critical time of day for you?

My mom and I decided to go to a bridal show. The only one I ever hope to have to attend! We walked in pretty much as it opened and everything was fine for literally about a minute, then my mom suddenly gets mobbed by this older lady, say in her 50’s, who keeps trying to give her coupons and whatnot for a masectomy/older women’s specialty store. It was hilarious! Mostly because my mom who’s about 45 now looks like she’s in her early 30’s at worst. Both my older sister and I have been asked who she was in relation to us (as in sister, cousin, etc). It was probably the funniest/most awkward thing that’s ever happened and I seriously teased her all day about it because the woman was just so pushy and kept saying things like “Us older gals need to stick together…need a place of our own to shop…etc etc” I mean it was bad!

We interupted polka night. I live in North Dakota with a bunch of Norwegians and we’re having our reception at vendor that hosts a lot of those things. I was telling the ladies who organize weddings about my date and when I’d like to do it (over Labor Day weekend) and they started to get really excited. One of them said, “You are going to get the best service EVER! Just as long as we don’t have to listen to polka!”
