I have been sitting here in physical PAIN from the prices in Pittsburgh! We are looking for tent rentals and I swear I would have to get a second job to get a tent from some of these places! So I was sitting here cutting paper snowflakes and I just realized that Weirton, WV is NOT that far from Pittsburgh. MAYBE 30 minutes from Robinson if you are a slow driver.
So I quickly looked up Weirton Rentals website and the quote on their website for a 30X60 tent is $540!!!! WHAT!? WHAT!? Are you serious!!?? And the side walls with Cathedral windows are $15 a piece! WHAT!? EVEN with the delivery charge of $120 from Weirton to Pittsburgh, the tent is still THOUSANDS less than what freaking All Occasions Party Rental quoted me!
I think I just saved us money! I’m going to get quotes from everyone in Weirton! I bet Newbrough Photo is thousands less too!
I would have the ceremony/reception down there if WV had a self uniting marriage lic.
Maybe we could get married in Weirton with our “officiant” and then do a short small private ceremony in Pittsburgh where we would file the lic?
Sorry this is so long! I’m just so effing excited that the small town rental company rents out the same effing tents as the big city renter for almost a thousand dollars less! AND they have the white garden chairs I want for $2 less! I’m going to be a kid in a candy shop when I drive down there to visit!

Hahaha, this totally just caught my eye…. I went to college near Weirton (I won’t say where on the boards though)… it’s not a place I think many people remember or think of… in fact, I think I only ventured into Weirton twice the entire time I was in school… Unless I was going to Pitt on 22 or Gabes (Gabriel Bros) right off 22 there was just no need to venture there.
Good call though! It’s always a good idea to check neighboring cities.

Wow, what a GREAT find!! That’s a pretty big deal.

Yeah, I called and spoke with someone and he said the reason why the rates are so low is because they mostly rent those tents for graduation parties. Everyone in this town usually has their reception at one of the few banquet halls in town. I’m still in shock. I even took at the florists website and a full rose bouquet with tiny little crystals was like $40. Here in Pittsburgh? $200! I seriously feel like I just won the lottery!

@KLP2010: I know how you feel. I grew up there and it didn’t even dawn on me until today! I don’t go down there anymore. My mother moved to Pittsburgh earlier this year. Before that I would go down on the weekends. I now have a renewed love for the tiny steel town!

@Miss Tattoo: So you say they have reasonable florists? haha, if you find anyone stellar let me know…or I will stay on play to DIY flowers.

$52.95 as shown
http://www.carolynsflorist.net/ has prices listed. Way less than some of the quotes I have gotten up here.
http://www.mccauslenanyoccasion.com/ No prices.
And a friend told me to check out Kroger. They did all of her flowers. I remember getting my flowers there for homecoming.

@miss tattoo do you have their number and pics from your tent reception? I was thinking about doing a tent also, but prices so far have been crazy!
