I’m planning to do welcome bags for our Jamaica wedding next year and was hoping to get thoughts on which you would prefer as a guest.
I love these bags as they go well with theme/decor (all very natural, etc), are the perfect size and can be reused if people choose to. Anyway….the first picture is the plain bag. The second is the bag printed for a Mexico Destination Wedding and I love the way this looks. I don’t want too much with names/date/etc as I find people tend not to reuse that stuff but would like it to be a bit more fun than plain so was thinking of having One Love printed in white similar to the Hola.
So…would you rather have a plain bag or one printed with One Love? Thanks in advance!

JamaicaBridetoBee: i am getting married at the Hyatt in Montego Bay on 10/1/16!! so i basically came to steal all your ideas hahaha
this bag is an awesome idea! personally, i think it looks “richer” unprinted… but the subtle white letters aren’t too bad at all. I would say go unprinted and maybe put a nice tag on it like the bottom pic has.

Thanks PenguinCandy! I’m 10/29/16 so a bit after you although have done a lot of planning already (I’m a huge planner in all aspects of life!).
What have you guys done already?? Have you picked a photographer?
And thanks for feedback..I’m so torn. I love the way it looks with something on it (esp the Hola!)…but would def go plain if it meant people would use them again after. Tag idea is a nice compromise. It’s cheaper too so there’s that!

I think I’d be more likely to reuse a plain bag, but you’re right that the nice white writing looks good, too!

- Wedding: May 2015 - Walnut Hill Bed & Breakfast
I like the writing, but I don’t know if I like the “One Love”. I’m not sure what that means? or why I’d want it written on my bag? Maybe it means something to you and your guests (then do it!), but I think I’d just be confused.

- Wedding: Hawksnest Cove Beach St John USVI
I did plan bags but made up cute tags to put in them with our theme and wedding date. I used address labels on them that covered the whole thing to give it a “finished” look

amberback…..One Love is a Bob Marley/Jamaica thing….not tied to that though if there was something else I could put on the bag that wasn’t our names/date/etc. I think I might just leave them blank since it’s 2 to 1 so far on the poll.

How about a plain bag, with tags attached to teh handle with ribbon…That way they can cut the tags off after the wedding and reuse. I think One Love is wonderful…very appropriate.

I vote for plain too. I think they’d be more likely to get used again.

- Wedding: A restaurant on the beach
I’d do plain and then attach a cute luggage tag in your wedding colors. That way they can remove it later on.

JamaicaBridetoBee: oh man, i am SO jealous, i suck at planning haha kudos to you. you’ll definitely be the bride calmly sipping champange the morning of your wedding while you get your hair done haha and me, well, i’ll be running around the resort with curlers in looking for my other wedding shoe. sighhhh. so far, we’ve only reserved our rooms and ceremony and reception locations at the resort. but we are expecting like 100 guests, i am going to cut myself some slack and say that coordinating rooms for that many people took like all of my attention haha
also, about the writing on the bags, my old job used to be doing the promo items for a big company. we would order all different kinds of stuff and one thing i learned was that you have to be careful where you order stuff from. you definitely get what you pay for, especially when printing on harder fabrics, like a woven bag. it might leave less room for error (ie: uneven printing, messed up/peeling letters….etc) if you went plain bag with a tag or ribbon or luggage tag, something easier to make and get. i hope that makes sense…
good luck! and best wishes for your Jamaican wedding!!

OP, Your bag design is DEVINE!!! I’ve struggled with what to do for my guests and was thinking about all the bags I have that I never use! I think that if I were to receive yours, I’d most definitely use it again!!!!
If you dont mind me asking, who is your bag vendor?

OnLoanFromAbove: Thanks girl! I stumbled across them randomly even before I found the “Hola” bag! They are Carry Green. If you sign up for their emails you get 5% off your first purchase and shipping is free. I can’t wait to order these!

The least expensive bag you can find.
I personally have an oversupply of bags in my home, and the chance that I would pack yours in my suitcase and bring it home are pretty slim.

Where’d you find the bags? I too am getting married in October Montego bay. This would be perfect and what I’m looking for.
