Where do you live?  For me, Philadelphia, i am putting in “Philly” treats…tastycakes, peanut chews, pretzels, and a wawa gift card.  Does your city have anything they can claim for being the best of?

Where is the wedding going to be?  People usually put snacks that have some local flair.  You can also put information from your local tourism office.

Snacks are always the best!  Peanuts, Snickers, maybe a piece of fruit?  Maybe some of those mini cans of coca cola?

how about local area maps, brochures of local museums or other attractions.

We’re also including restaurant recommendations (list out breakfast, lunch and dinner options for our favorite places within walking/short drive of our hotel blocks, and give reviews of our favorite places).

We’re trying to make ours wedding/regional themed and giving them to all guests the night before the wedding at a campfire party.

We’re including:

Custom Screen Printed Tote (FH is a screenprinter)

Lavender Handmade Natural Soap (Bouquets are Lavender)

Custom Postcards (Made on vistaprint.com – one for them to send to a friend one to send to us!)

Sunscreen (Outdoor Wedding at 1pm in August)

Local Tourism Brochures & Maps

We found $.99 totes here: http://cheaptotes.com/canvas_tote_bag_8.html

…and $.25 sunscreen here: http://www.minimus.biz

(We’re also buying our bathroom basket items from minimus at the same time.)

We’re not including water or snacks because all of our guests will have cars and can go to a gas station or whatever to buy their own snacks.

I second the postcard idea – @vagabond  – great idea to include 2 and ask them to send one to us!

We included things from local vendors we use:

a mini soy candle (I got to pick/mix the scent!)

box of matches for candle

pretzels, granola bar, gum, maybe an apple

welcome booklet w/ wedding details (where to be when, transportation info, etc), facts about Columbus, crossword puzzle, wordfind, games, etc. as well as local recommended activies or places to eat.

mini coffee sample of our favorite New Mexico coffee (FI is from NM)

– I got our cardboard gable boxes off ebay for a great price. You can also check out http://www.papermart.com for bags and boxes galore!
