Honestly, I would be thrilled to get an oot bag! It shows that the bride and groom appreciate your travels to share their special day! It wouldn’t even matter what was in them!

Is there someone else you can delegate this to? Family, friends? If most of the guests are from Out of Town, the welcome bag is helpful, as it can include directions, local info like attractions/restaurant info. You can keep it SIMPLE- buy the bags ahead of time, and just get water, a granola bar/chips, and maybe a pack of gum. Done!

@hecallsmelove:  I am putting all the information together ahead of time. I am making a little booklet (or folder..havent figured it all out yet) with a schedule, location/directions, list of restaurants, and things to do in the area. You could do something like that, because it’s easy to transport.

As far as the bags, I am justing using simple gift bags and putting in snacks, water, aspirin, etc. I’m getting everything at BJ’s and spending no more than $5/bag. All my guests are out of town as well, so I wanted to give them something to help navigate the area.

Do you feel like you have important information you need to deliver to your out of town guests? I did, and that is why I’m doing welcome bags. If you don’t then I would say its a nice thought, but wouldn’t stress about doing it if it will be a problem.

To me it seemed like if I just gave people a flyer or whatever with information on it by itself, they wouldn’t read it or would be like “bleh, reading.” Instead if I put it in a bag with some water and something to munch on people are more like “oooh what did they give me!” and will read the flyer while munching.
