can I vote good idea and a waste of money, cause I think both! Very nice gesture and cute idea but not necessary!

@baletrina:  Haha, I love that bag, I have the same ones as my grocery bags from Jewel!  🙂  Smart idea!!!  Cute AND functional.

I did them and did not regret it at all!  We went to Costco and just bought a bunch of stuff to put in there.

It’s a nice inexpensive gesture for guests and they love them. Most people who haven’t planned a wedding haven’t even heard of welcome bags, so they will be totally blown away by the small gesture. My mom still talks about how cool it was that she got a welcome bag at a cousin’s wedding years ago.

@MrsJX3:  +1. We used blankets (for the outdoor winter ceremomy) to wrap just a few snacks: water, nuts, granola or fruit bars, mini baileys bottles for coffee.  I also included the tourist town map, weekend itinerary and scavengar hunt card for the guests.  It wasn’t alot but the package laying on the beds sure was a hit.  It doesn’t have to cost a fortune to make guests feel special.  🙂

@MrsJX3:  We originally were looking for the old Jewel bags that had different sites from the city on them but we lucked out as these were soooo much cuter!  I still love them. 🙂

All of our guests will be from out of town (DW), so we are definitely having a snack-welcome bag. They’re not too expensive if you raid a Costco. We’re also thinking about menus from surrounding restaurants.
