I’m planning on doing simple wedding welcome bags for my guests. I just have a dilemma regarding when to give them out. We are having a multiday Indian wedding, from Fri- Sun night, with various locations and various hotels. Would it be weird to place them on chairs at the wedding itself? Or just on the last night to hand them to the hotel to hand out?

@thelittlespoon: Welcome bags for out of town guests are generally given out at the time people check into their hotel, either at the registration desk or already waiting in their suites. If you talk to the hotel(s) people are staying at, they should be happy to help you arrange this.

@thelittlespoon: Are these welcome bags for your out of town guests? Or for everyone? I would just leave them at the check in counter and ask them to give the bags to your guests if everyone’s staying at a hotel. Otherwise, I guess at the wedding is okay, but that kind of defeats the purpose of the welcome bag, doesn’t it? Then it becomes a wedding favor. 🙂
