be careful, a lot of hotels charge $5+ per bag to distribute these.

@Mrs. Meowerson:  Very true – I found this out as well and decided to scrap the welcome bags even though I love being the recipient of them.  We would have over 50 bags that we’d need to put together and I just couldn’t justify it.  I felt such a relief after I scraped the idea.

Some ideas for things to put in them are advil, water bottles, snacks, maps of the area, anything local to your wedding that might be interesting/unique.

we did most of what lmoss78 suggested, as well as jars of homemade raspberry jam and apple butter with cute labels.  we also included postcards from the city where the wedding is.

Buy things in bulk like water bottles and good midnight snack foods at Costco. Then get all kinds of information or brochures from touristy things in the city. Let them know your favourite places to go and things to see!
