Okay fellow brides- Need your advice on OOT/Welcome Bags:
My dilemma- Should wedding party and local folks staying at the hotels receive bags?
Or should bags be given only to “guests” who are traveling.
Your feedback is appreciated!

I’m doing for both, but tiered. The hotel charges for water (GRRR!!), so everyone gets water, mints, mini chocolates, gum, a granola bar and mini bag of goldfish.
Travelers-gets a little more, and those staying two nights gets extras of everything plus fruit. We bought most of it at Sam’s Club, so it was cheap enough to do for all.

I’m guessing you’re asking because of budget reasons. If the locals are just staying there so that they don’t have to drive home after the reception, I would skip giving them a welcome bag because they don’t need maps or an introduction to the area and local goodies.

We plan on doing this only for Out of Town guests, which includes most of the bridal party. If you’re already getting bridal party gifts, I’d say the locals don’t need anything extra in the hotel.

We’re doing them for everyone. Whether or not they are Out of Town or local, they are still spending the same amount of money on the room, so why should some get a bag, and others not? It’s more about just giving them something fun and setting the tone for the event.

We are doing all guests staying at our hotel. I have enough to do without adding on who gets what bag!

WE are doing everyone, since everyone is coming to the island. Staying in different places, and some only have a couple hours of driving, but I thought it would just be easier than keeping track of who doesn’t get one. And buckets with shovels for the kids!!
