- Wedding: March 2013
I need to choose if we should hold our welcome drinks or our reception in our villa. We are renting a 3 bedroom villa for our wedding at a resort. We have a choice of having the welcome drinks at a beach resturant or having them in our villa. Alternatively we could have our wedding reception at this resturant or in our villa. But I dont want both events to be at the same location, I dont want the guests to come to our villa for welcome drinks and then the next day come back to the same place for the reception dinner. The pros for having the welcome drinks at the resturant is its right on the beach and in the daylight so people can see the beach/water. For the reception dinner it will already be dark so you wont be able to see the sea. I was going to have the reception dinner in the restureant anyway but they cannot give us a private area, (the charge for a private room is very high – they said we had to spend $5000US including food and drinks to get this private room). Plus the decor of the resturant isnt that great – plastic chairs outside (fine for welcome drinks). But then again will people think we are having the reception in our villa as its cheaper? As it actually will be the same cost as the resturant as we have to pay for staff to serve us, the advantages are its private plus we have a private pool. But for the same reason the private pool would be good for the welcome drinks – and mos tpeople wont swim at the wedding reception dinner will they? Alternatively I can keep looking for another restaurant with a private area foe less. Sigh, sorry, I am just going around in circles. Any input is very welcome!
