I’m thinking of having pimms and lemonade all made up in a drinks dispenser for guests to help themselves to for a ‘welcome drink’ when arriving at the reception, would this be ok? I’m also having a Buffett so again another ‘help yourself’ situation so I thought the drinks situation will ‘fit’ in……. What do you think? Thanks

I would appreciate ice water, more, as I don’t drink lemonade. (I’m assuming Pimms is an alcoholic beverage, which I really don’t think you should serve without food/on empty stomachs).

I think a welcome drink is a cute idea. I do worry that a dispenser could be complicated if your wedding isn’t super small – you could end up with a ton of people in a line (which normally leads to complaining).

I’d also consider how long your ceremony will be. If it’ll be longer then people might need to use the bathroom in the middle if you’re serving drinks beforehand. Just another angle to think about.

How many guests are you having? We are having a self service drink center, but we are having 5 dispensers.. probably sweet tea, lemon tea, lemonade, pink lemonade & some type of punch or maybe a fruit infused water. We are only having 40ish guests though, so people should be able to get their drinks fairly quickly.

sounds great! Not sure how many guests you are having, but you will probably need multiple drink dispensers… I would also have some water in mutliple dispensers as well for those that don’t want alcohol or just feel parched…

Well it will be in the reception area after our church ceremony so it will be there whilst we are having some photos done, I’m looking to make up a pimms one, fruit punch one for the kids or if people don’t want alcohol I will definitely incorporate water as it will be August and it should be hot, there will be 60 guests, 20 of which are kids! it will just be there to help themselves too before the food is ready as the bar doesnt start until the evening

My caterer will be passing sparkling water and chilled white wine to guests as they wait for the ceremony to start. I think it’s a great idea
