Bees! I am finally on here to share our new home that we closed on March 20. We have spent the night there already, and we’re loving it. It feels weird to be in such open areas with no decorations, but we will get there. It also feels like all we do is open doors and shut off lights. We have never had so much room!
Steps up to the living room
Upstairs living room
We already managed to get our tv in. Those are the couches and lamp that they left for us.
My husband was just beaming about all the room he finally has to cook!
This was originally a nursery, and I plan on keeping it that way for when we have a baby. LOVE the color!!
Spare bedroom upstairs
Downstairs den. You see a sump pump in the corner. All houses being built are required to have them since we live in a town with a high water table. We have two of them in the house. This was newly remodelled because of water damage, so it is a good thing we have those things even though we are high up on a hill (we can still flood from ground seepage).
Fireplace in the downstairs den
Donwstairs bathroom. A little small, but LOTS of storage
When they remodelled they placed the master bedroom downstairs where it is cooler.
It’s great to sleep down there. We love it already!
This is the laundry room. It’s next to the master bedroom. It has a deep sink and tons of storage as you can see below.
I didn’t take any pictures of the backyard or patio (it’s all snowcovered) or closets, but we have huge, deep closets and lots of them. There is a lot of storage scattered throughout the house. It is just amazing to finally be in a home. The rest of our stuff will be moved Saturday!!!
I’m so excited, Bees!!!

I remember the excitement of our first home. Congratulations!
Over time you will be able to decorate and landscape and make it your own.

Congrats! We bought our first home last year and I remember how exciting it was. I fell in love with decorating! Looks like you have a lot of space to work with 🙂

How exciting! Did you move from an apartment?
@ThreeMeers: Yes, we did. My Darling Husband has been in an apt for 5 years. I actually lived in one back in 2008-2010 and then got a smaller mobile home. When we got engaged I moved into his apt (I know, who the hell moves BACK into an apt?! I must have been crazy!). I’m excited to have room again.

Thanks, everyone! I am super behind on washing clothes now, but I am having so much fun having storage for all my stuff. I am also having fun unpacking all my goodies that have been packed away since 2008 and 2011!!

@megz06: I really like your house, especially the laundry room being close to the Master bedroom so you don’t have to carry laundry as far. I also like the bathroom. Is that a pattern on the wall or spots??? I think the kitchen will look better with a different wall color next to the cabinets. Sorry, I know you didn’t ask for opinions like that. I know coming up with decorating /project ideas can be tough and overwhelming.

@BluePeaches: Haha thanks! I am open to suggestions. The bathroom actually has this flowery tile junk, so it actually a pattern and not spots. I would like to redo it one day becuase I can’t hang anything up in that bathroom.
Eventually with the kitchen I would like to take that wall border off and repaint the kitchen a brighter color. Not like yellow, but a light Earth tone maybe.

@megz06: Oh good 🙂 i usually love bold colors here and there but it doesn’t seem to be working for that kitchen, at least in pictures. I think something a little lighter and earthy would be perfect, unless you want to keep the red and paint the cabinets maybe. I think it is just the red against wood that isn’t working.
