@kate169: Sorry, is it a wedding planning service? Venue? That would help me a bit in ideas for more goodies. 🙂

What about a card with helpful wedding sites?  Like WB, SMP, Project wedding, MarthaStewart, that free wedding planner site.  You might have to get permission, but I would have found that helpful.

@kate169: Aaah. Hmm, I like tks’s idea, I’d have loved a little ‘guide to the wedding world.’ Maybe something silly and cute like a ‘wedding decoder’ with all the meanings of Future Father-In-Law, Bridesmaid or Best Man, STD, TTD, etc, if it’s more of a fun basket.

If it’s more formal/professional, then maybe some tips for good photos (colors that work well, posing tips, makeup, etc). Also, a wedding timeline would be super helpful (the 8 months out do abc, 5 months out, xyz, etc) and even a timeline of your services (e-shoot x months out, in time for Save the Dates, bridal portrait dates (if they do those in VA), possible boudoir shoot x months out, timeline of wedding day, trash the dress).

@kate169: Hmm. Maybe a few favor samples? Not sure if you/your studio has a color theme in  the logo, but maybe jordan almonds, honey sticks (I’m bias), cake pops, or other snacky, common favor ideas. Food+goodie+idea/inspiration for the bride-to-be.

@kate169: Totally not weird, but it may not be used by all of the clients. No guarantees that anything would, though, and I think it’s a cute idea! I wonder if there are any ‘dude-type’ gifts. It’s always nice to get the guys on board, that’s 50% of the vote for you as photog then! Haha.

ETA- our tax ladie hands out super fun and useful promo stuff. We have like 3 of the handheld pizza cutters with her name/info on them, and we LOVE the compact corkscrews with her info (those are a great idea for couples – CELEBRATE!). Or koozies.

*Pulled from the net, sorry it’s huge!

One photographer made a great impression on us by giving me a small personalized booklet with tips on photography and wedding stuff in general, but also info on sunset time and average temperatures for our wedding day.

@kate169: I am not sure if you do need permission.  I would email Pengy or DG and see if you would, they would have those answers.
