And it didn’t go as I expected it to.
Firstly, neither of the shops that claimed to carry the two dresses I wanted to try on carry the Dessy dress at all (the one I posted before with the flowers on the waist). One shop did carry the Alfred Sung dress. I took a picture:
I’m not sure if I like it or not. It’s obviously too big in the picture, my grandma is holding the back for me (very loosely actually…just noticed that!). I’d get it in white or ivory or champagne if I did get this dress, not teal. I guess I expected something a bit different? I’m not sure.
It’s funny though, at the second shop I went to, the sales associate asked me when my wedding date was. After I told her she said, “Oh, you have 2 years? You do know that there will be new dresses coming out before then…You have so much time,” she handed me the dress and walked away. Practical advice, sure. But lady…I’m here right.now.
The funny part is that I also tried on a Justin Alexander dress (which by the way was so beautiful, but sooooo expensive!). As soon as I came out of the dressing room, THREE sales associates swarmed me asking me if I needed any help with anything.
So, I suppose at this shop, they scoff at your wedding date being far away when you ask to try on a bridesmaid dress that costs $135 but as soon as you put on a dress that costs over $1000, your date doesn’t matter anymore. 😛 Whatever.
Either way, my day was awesome. 🙂 My mom, grandma, and I got lunch and laughed at all of the ridiculous dresses at the shops (and even tried some on)! We’ll go again later when the new lines of dresses come in, so I really do have a ton of time…well, at least until January. 😉
What do you bees think about this dress? Can I pull off the short dress look?
