I am so thrilled and just need to share…
I didn’t want to pay bridal shop prices for alterations, nor did I want my bridesmaids to pay lots of money for a dress they would never wear again that didn’t fit right anyway (my experience with bm dresses). A friend recommended a woman from her church who did some dress-making as a side gig, and I decided to give this woman the responsibility of making dresses for my maids, flower girls, and doing my dress alterations. I’m normally the type to drop big money on the peace of mind of using a professional, but for some reason I took a chance. It has been a great experience. First of all, she kept working on my dress until it was perfect, and made me feel gorgeous every time. Today I took it home with me, YAY! It fits my every curve perfectly… no awkward armpit fat, but tight enough in the waist that there is no need to repeatedly pull the dress up either. You can’t even tell that she took the dress in because the intricate embroidery and beading were left unharmed. The flower girl dresses are beautiful and fit perfectly. The bridesmaids dresses are gorgeous, they are all already talking about the next time they will wear the dress, and each girl only paid $90 for a silk dupioni dress made to fit!! Plus I had her make the ring pillow out of the same fabric and it looks awesome. I’ll have to come back and post a picture of us all together – only 8 more days!
So how about you bees, who has had a vendor pleasantly surprise them by having everything go perfectly?
