@Little_Hedgy:  You have all the things I’d love: a nice butt, boobs and curly hair! Don’t let her get you down, we all have body hang ups. Revel in your gloriousness!

Ohhh I feel your pain, sorry about the annoying VS girl 🙁

I was actually in VS the other day with a friend myself, and did the exact same avoidance tactic! I wear a 28DD when fitted properly. (Talk about IMPOSSIBLE… my size quite literally only exists in one specialty store I have ever come across!) No thanks little teenager, I am NOT going to believe you that a 32B will work because “this one fits tight!” I need a 28 that fits tight, lol.

Seriously?  A 28DD is not a 32B.

@kaylee26:  lol yeah, the girl was like 16 and she said, “oh I’m a 28 too and that 32 one here fits me!” What on earth are they teaching their sales staff?

I  don’t mind my itty bitty titties  but I have the same problem in the other direction.  Where can you find a 32a besides the kids section?!

People – Intimacy is your friend.  Seriously.  They have the best bra fitters ever – they’re like bra whisperers.  The salesladies are all ages, shapes, and sizes, and are so nice.  They will just kind of stare at your chest for a few seconds and come back with like 10 amazing bras for you to try on.

I won’t shop anywhere else now.  VS????  hahahahahahahaha!!!  Those bras could never support my 38 E/F chest in a million years.  Intimacy’s stuff is pricy but lasts FOREVER.  And you wear bras every day!  They also sell bra sized swimwear, which I love.  They’re also the only place I could find a strapless bra for my wedding.

They carry every size imaginable – from small to big.

34F here (my petite mother has NO idea where they came from), and I completely understand!  No, you can’t just put me in a 38DD.  It doesn’t work that way!

After years of schlepping around in a very wrong size and wondering why my boobs were so sad, I stopped by a local lingerie boutique on the recommendation of a friend.  The girl sized me, left for a few minutes, and came back carrying TWENTY bras in all different colors/materials/brands.  I was there for over an hour just trying things on, and it was awesome.  I left with 4 bras and waaaay happier boobs.  My old bras have been relegated to field work, and I lovingly wash my (expensive!) new bras in the sink with Woolite instead of throwing them in the washer.

My favorite brand now is Panache out of the UK.  I agree that the vast majority of American companies have NO idea that all women don’t top out at a D cup.  It was a sad day when I realized I’d never be able to swing by Target or Kohls or even VS real quick and grab a bra.  But, I’ve got that local boutique to go to, and I also keep an eye on a few online sites like Fig Leaves and Her Room.

@Little_Hedgy:  My breasts are the bane of my existence too. I wouldn’t have been as nice as you were about it though. I would have just kept repeating “no” until she got it.

Funny story!  But a 38 band size is not fat, btw.  😉

FWIW, in most bras (like at Target) I’m a 36C, but at VS I’m a 32 or 34 DD, go figure.  VS sizes seem weird to me, never figured them out.

Actually, VS is the ONLY place that carries my size (32D). All other places start at 34, and that’s not right (and no, 34C does not fit me). I do hate that they don’t really carry a whole lot of 32Ds in store, so they try to tell me that I can totally fit in a 34C. Yes, if I want the band too loose and the cups too small.

I can’t wear any of their bras (though I can fit some of their panties). But I lost any faith I may have had in their bra sizing when I saw them measuring one girl over her sweater. Yeah, that’ll get you an accurate measurement. Yell At least most of them are polite, unlike one specialty store in the town I just moved from where the saleswomen are horrid harpies, but the bras don’t fit no matter how enthusiastic the VS saleswoman is.

@Little_Hedgy:  Oh honey..VS doesn’t know how to size for crap. I am a 34 band and they would insist on fitting me into 38 bands so that the cups would fit my breasts. Go to an Intimacy and/or a Nordstrom to get a good fitting. You can even use Butterfly Collection (Canadian bra boutique) to do a free skype fitting.

VS irritates me anyway because I don’t think their crap is worth half of what they charge for it. $50 bucks for a bra? Really??!! Their Pink section is even worse. My teen daughter LOVES Pink. Uhm…….they want $80 for a hoodie sweatshirt that looks exactly like something you could get at Walmart. Every time I pass by VS, I realize PT Barnum really was a prophet.

@Little_Hedgy:  I feel yah, i have big girls too!

And I’m a 38DDD but you didn’t make me feel fat because I knew what you meant.  If i went in there, and they tried to stuff me in a 44, i’d be a bit miffed too!

I’ve heard that getting a bigger band helps the cup thingie, but i find it’s simply not true. I’ve tried that and it just results in a loose fitty, saggy boob that still manages to jiggle out the top . *sigh*  I hate it when girl friends drag me into La Senza and i have to look at all the pretty bra’s i’ll never be able to wear.
