You’re one visit closer! I was LDR for 6 months, it was originally going to be 18 months until I found a loop hole in a work contract and was able to get out of it. Good luck, you’ll make it!!

my bf and i did the whole LDR thing for 2.9 years. it wouldn’t have taken us that long if it didn’t take forever for me to get a job in the area we’re living in, but it still would have been over 2 years. for the first 2 years we were 5 hour difference (he lived in western PA, i lived in jersey) and then he moved to northern VA which cut about 2 hours off of our drive time. so for 9 months we made that trip. it was tough and i cried everytime i had to leave him too, but last summer when i was looking for a job here i was able to stay for a week or so at a time since he had his own apartment. that made things a bit easier πŸ˜‰

Aww! do not feel bad about crying, I too like you am a HUGE crybaby. What’s bad is I fly and everytime after I get dropped off I start crying in the corner at the terminal and then have tears rolling down on the airplane. I honestly think I freak the people near me out. No one has ever asked but, they just look over at me constintely.

Back to the main question.  I started my LDR with my Boyfriend or Best Friend Nov 2009 so its been one year and 4 months… on Friday! and I am flying out to visit my man on Saturday πŸ™‚

It’s been rough and I bawl everytime I leave him but, I just look forward to next year when I can be with him and never have to leave.

We were in an LDR for 4 years, and for a few months 2 years ago as well. I cried every. time. we left each other in those 4 years. I totally get it!

We’ve been doing it since May of 2008. And we’ll finally get married/move in together in August 2012. Keep the faith, girlfriend πŸ™‚

We were in an LDR for about a year and a half… and it was horrible! I don’t know how some of you did it/continue to do it for years. I have so much respect/awe for you ladies!

I just have to say, it’s so good to read this stuff!  Man. I was waiting at the mechanic for my car to be done, and my upcoming LDR came up.. and he was like “Oh, well then you guys are pretty much over, right?”

I have a feeling he had ulterior motives but I was pissed.

Anyway, it’s good to read about how long everyone’s been in an LDR and that you’ve survived!

Right now we’re an hr apart but see each other most weekends (It’s so sad when we can’t do that though πŸ™ ) I’m graduating with my BSc next year spring and then planning on pursuing further education so we’re looking at another 4 yrs and I’ll either be 4 or 5 hrs away depending on which school I go to πŸ™ πŸ™ πŸ™ Too bad there isn’t a college close to where he is.

We have been doing this for over 2 years… so sick of the distance AND the airport!  We usually see each other every two weeks.. it is a lot of sad time on the plane.  πŸ™ Good luck to everyone else in this situation!
