A couple of days ago the forecast called for 74 and mostly sunny. I KNEW it was too good to be true. Today the forecast is saying it will be in the 60s, an ugly, gray day, and on and off rain all day long. wtf.
I swear it’s my luck. We had to schedule our wedding, and then soon after something else big got scheduled on the same day. Oh well, couldn’t change it now. I just KNEW it would rain on top of that. Ugh. I swear I can’t win. Murphy hates me.
I’m not trying to get a pity party, I just need to vent. I know that you can’t help the weather and that “rain on your wedding day is good luck” but I still don’t want it. Now my pictures are going to be of a gray, ugly day. I know you can color edit them but I don’t want pictures that are all photoshopped.
I’m just so upset–I just found out and it really put a damper on my day. Pray that the forecast changes and do an anti-rain dance for me!!!

It rained all day on my wedding day as well, and a lot of the pics I wanted didn’t happen. But, you can get some really beautiful pics in an overcast sky. Buy yourself some really cute rain boots and a fine umbrella, and work it!! 🙂

I understand your disappointment and I’m sorry you feel that way. It might make you feel a little better to know that some of my all-time favorite wedding photos have been on rainy, grey, overcast days. In my opinion, it can be very romantic and touching.

We had an 80% chance of rain on our wedding day and it ended up raining at like 10am and then clearing by noon so we were fine. However, I was actually kind of sad it didn’t rain at least a little. Seriously, look up rainy wedding pictures, they’re absolutely gorgeous! Plus, it’ll be great no matter what. I found out on the day of that even if things go wrong (in our case immediate family members being thirty minutes late for the ceremony and cutting out thirty minutes of our pictures), it’s still an amazing day.

Thank you, all of you. The pictures you posted are gorgeous. I don’t have time to purchase rain boots but let’s just hope I don’t need them. Your photos and inspiration do make me feel a bit better.
I’m mostly worried about my hair-it NEVER stays, and even with tons of hairspray i worry about it frizzing up in the rain. I just want my pictures to look nice and it’s hard not to be sad thinking about it. Every wedding I have been to in the last few years has had no rain, why mine?!?! I thought it didn’t rain much in Sept!!?!!

I have the same exact forecast as you for Cleveland, OH. I am bummed too 🙁 Let’s hope it clears up for the moments when we have to be walking around outside.

It ended up being lovely! I think it rained in the morning but I was still inside. By the time we left the house it was sunny and warm! Thank goodness! At that point I was prepared for rain, though–I had rain boots and the mind set that whatever happens happens. I must say I was really relieved when it was nice, though!
