Our wedding is June 5th, and we just lost our dinner venue. I am so pi$$ed. Thank GOD our wedding is on a Sunday and we are having it in an area where there are lots of choices. I’m just so disappointed. This restaurant is right across a narrow street from where we are having our ceremony, and the food is FAB! Problem is, they switched managers…and hours. They are no longer open on Sunday. They would let us keep the promise of the prior manager, if we are willing to pay a $1000. upcharge, plus $60 per head. Since our reception consists of a total of 13 people, it is way out of our range. Also, Fiance, who is a chef, said it probably is not a good idea to have people cooking and serving us food that don’t really want to.
I’m crushed. The former manager did not want to do a contract, since basically, we really just needed a reservation. We were supposed to work out a menu with them next month, and sign then.

I am sorry to hear that this happened! I do hope that you find an even better venue that you’re happy with!

that’s terrible! things happen for a reason though and i am positive that wherever your reception ends up being, you will be so happy it worked out that way!

It seems like you are out of luck since you didn’t have a signed and written contract initialy, but what poor business practices! I would be pissed too, but I think you should find a new place that not only do you love but who loves you and is willing to make your wedding day amazing!

Omg that’s awful! I mean, ya, the lack of a contract is what’s really blowing this for you, but on the other hand, an act of good faith would have gone miles here. I mean really, word of mouth gets farthest, especially if it’s bad reviews! What a really bad bad decision on their part. I hope you find something you love 100x more and that will treat you properly!
