I’ve picked out every present my SO has ever givin me. He’s done the same for me. We always thought it was easier, so never bothered with the whole “surprise me” thing.
I have found some rings.. two being (natural) white sapphires in white gold.
Compaired to a 2ct moissanite in rose gold(14k), and an 18K tiffany wedding band
The band for these would be the equivilent of the rose gold tiffany, but done in platinum. Which will run about $2-400 dollars LESS than the moissanite set.
So, I’m thinking of just putting them all on a list and letting SO choose. But I think my control issues might freak a little bit at the thought of having no clue what he will choose.
And the 2nd one

Also, my promise ring is lab created 2ct white sappphire in silver. So I was thinking the natural 2ct white sapphire would be a nice bit of continuity.
The specks on both sapphires is 2ct round vvs1/FI, D color, cut good.

I know nothing but I like the first one

I think they’re both very pretty. You should add them to the list and let your SO decide.
I’m in a similar situtation as you. I didn’t exactly tell my SO what to get me at Christmas, but I knew he was getting me a garmin. I also know he’s getting me the tiffany “charm enhancer” ring holder when I come visit him. Blah. I knew he was getting it for me, but he ruined the surprise by telling me.
Sometimes it’s nice (although scary!) to give up control.

They are both very pretty! Does he want you to pick out the ring? Or are you doing this to help him out?
My SO want’s it to be a complete suprise so I have no IDEA what my ring will look like! It drives me crazy sometimes but hey this is the ONE time he will be able to do something without me helping( cough cough controlling it) LOL.
EDIT- I looked again, I like the first one better!

They are both gorgeous! Personally, I beleive that you should put them both on your wish list, and then let him choose. That way if he wants to “surprise” you, then he is able to.

I like the first one better, but that’s because I’m not a fan of plain bands.
At first what me and my guy did was when we looked for rings, we picked out 4 styles that I really liked. We took pictures with each one on my hand. Originally I told him he could pick one of those styles so he could surprise me. However, I couldn’t get that last ring out of my head, and he couldn’t either. So we decided to get the last one, and put a nice sapphire it. We finished designing it yesterday and he’s ordering it sometime in the next week.
My point is, if you give him choices, but you find yourself continuously thinking about a specific one over and over again, tell him, because you don’t want to be disappointed that he picked a different one. It will still be a surprise because the proposal is a whole different matter.
Good luck! 🙂
