@Crabcakes1027:  No problem! It sounds like you mostly stuck with fit/flares because you thought they would be best for your body type.  It’s so funny – I ended up with a shape of dress that I didn’t think would flatter my figure AT ALL, and the things that I thought would be the most flattering didn’t make me feel my best. Your dress is totally out there – I promise!

@Crabcakes1027:  I’m in exactly the same boat. I had no idea it would be so difficult!  I love, love the beading on this one but I’m a sparkle girl  I think it looks very pretty but until you feel like “hot dang I look good!” keep looking!

@Crabcakes1027:  I don’t think the dress looks terrible on you, but you can do better.

I would also like to see you in a-lines and ball gowns, though I actually think you could pull off a drop waist ball gown as you are fairly short-waisted – a poofy natural waist ballgown might end up swallowing up your tiny waist rather than emphasising it. (A ballgown that is more a full a-line may be better than a true poofy ballgown if you go for something natural-waisted.)

if you like the slimmer silhouettes, and lace, I think you should try Maggie Sottero Lorie if it is within your budget. There are a few threads on here of brides who have chosen it – it seems to flatter a wide range of shapes. It is a slim a-line.

I forgot to post a photo of the Lorie – here ’tis:

And some more dresses that may suit. I have mostly stuck to lace ones since that seems to be what you like.

Maggie Sottero Emma (comes with or without straps)

    Other options…

Essence of Australia – still a fit and flare but flares out from quite high and the straps will help to balance out your hips and emphasise the slimness of your waist:

I love the first dress on you! I would pick it if you love it! I think it flatters you well. I do not care for the 2nd dress you posted.
