Went to DB today. After almost having a confrontation in the midst of all the satin and chiffon dresses in a sea of random color pops, with a STUPID STUPID STUPID consultant….me, fh and MaidOH each picked a dress. Well, I’d said it needed to be black satin, but anything in their budget(with my approval of course), b/c I wanted us all to wear red satin heels.
Well, I say I’m thinking I’d rather have the uniform look, I’ll buy the shoes. Then she just about flips on me, saying how she is NOT going to look like any of the other girls, and they aren’t going to match, etc. The dress she chose(which FH and I agree, looks totally awesome on her!), is practically DB’s MOST ornamental Bridesmaid or Best Man dress, without going into the Quince/MOB gowns. Ummmm…I had told her when she made her declaration above ^, that SHE is not the only Maid/Matron of Honor. that my other BFF will be MatronOH(as she weds in April) then my and FH’s sisters.
But you guys, I didn’t really have the intent to separate them all! I really figured I’d just have all MOH’s. She is local, Future Sister-In-Law is in Afghanistan(on her way to Washington-SOOOO EXCITED!!!), my Matron lives in IL, and my lil sis lives in Austin.
I didn’t want it to be broken down like this. I am not doing programs, etc. Plus, the dress she chose is $180 + alterations, b/c of her body size. She is the Maid/Matron of Honor in 2 other weddings this year, one out of state. She has all this stuff to do, and I didn’t even ASK her to be Maid/Matron of Honor. She just pulled it out of me when she was like “so what am I going to be, just a guest?”!!!
What do I do? She’s chosen this gown, that looks great on her. But the other girl’s dresses, are going to look severely plain, therefore making HER the ONLY one to stand out :/
