I went dress shopping again!
The new dresses I liked are below, along with the previous ones I am still thinking about. Any thoughts bees? Which one makes me look the least short and dumpy, lol!
Dress 1: Casablanca 1827. I love the light-ness of the dress, and the sparkle that seems pretty but not overdone. I didn’t like that it doesn’t sit smoothly at the hips, probably because it is a more light fabric. The sample was too big and is clamped, so that maybe makes it look a little odd. And maybe the longline bra I was wearing was not good enough. I liked it with a sash to breakt it up a bit and emphasize the waist (extra cost).

Dress 2: Paloma Blanca 4165. I’ve seen this dress or similar ones in photos and never thought it’d look good on me, but I tried it and I did like it a lot. Very light and a super great fabric – silk! Of course it’s more than twice as expensive as anything else I’ve tried on. Cost is really not a problem, but I’m also a frugal type of person so it is hard for me to spend money on myself, even though I can afford it! The dress here is a couple sizes too small, so doesn’t sit quite right and it makes the unsymmetrical-ness of the gown look a bit less intentional than it should.

Dress 3 – Allure 8634. I couldn’t really try this one on because they didn’t have a larger size sample. I like it held up over me, but I’m worried that’s more the shape of the dress and not the shape of me in the dress! I think I would like a dress with cleavage though!

And the two dresses that I’m still considering from previous shopping:
Dress 4 Allure 2564. I love the look of this one but it is sooo heavy! I really want to throw it out of the mix because of weight and I think it’s going to be too restrictive (feels a bit like wearing a big snowsuit or something!), but I do love it on!

Dress #5 – David’s Bridal 9T9612 – I love it on. The photos of it, not so much. It is very comfortable and when I’m in it I think it is the one. When I look at pictures I’m feeling like it’s kind of blah. I think maybe the empire waist is not as flattering as a natural waist on me?

I really like the Paloma on you. As for the Allure, if you find it too heavy, don’t get it. Mine was very similar, and that’s how I knew it was the one for me – I didn’t care about how much more heavy it was. If it’s already a negative factor for you, it’s not the one for you.

Allure 8634 looks the best on you! I’m partial to classic vintage gowns however.

I actually think you look great in all of them. My favorites are the Allure 8634 (as long as it doesn’t give you too much cleavage and/or you could add a lace panel or something), the Paloma Blanca, and the Casablanca.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about silk, so, if you decide to go with the PB, I think you will LOVE it. Silk was one of my must-haves for my dress, because it is a natural fabric and will not cause you to become as warm under your dress as a synthetic-blend fabric may. It also feels wonderful and is so beautiful in pics.
I really don’t think you can go wrong, since you’ve tried on some beautiful dresses!

The Paloma! It reminds me of when I put on the Pronovias Georgia– pulled in at the waist, added a sash and BAM!
