Not sure whether to be excited, or a little freaked out.
I’ve been on a prescription for years with a warning “do not take if you are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant.” In October, my prescription ran out just as I was starting a new job and did not have health insurance for 90 days. Then, I was traveling a lot for work and couldn’t get in to see my doctor for a new prescription until today.
So I told her that I had stopped taking the med for a number of reasons, one of which was because DH and I may want to start trying for kids in the next 1-2 years and I wasn’t sure how long the “thinking about becoming pregnant” warning lasted.
Next thing I know, she’s writing my a prescription for pre-natal vitamins and ordering a bunch of lab tests for genetic testing, blood type, syphilis, hepatitis, and a bunch of other things. They took 7 viles of blood!
On one hand, I’m pretty excited to get results and get cleared to try. On the other, I was not really prepared for all of this mentally, and I’m scared DH is going to freak when he sees the vitamins.
Not sure if I’m looking for advice, support, or just telling about my weird experience, but comments appreciated!
