… with cushion cut, halo rings with thin pave bands! Particularily the Tacori 2620. Shopping was a great time, especially since it was his way of showing he was serious about proposing in exchange for me being more flexible about the original timeline. We’re in a LDR, and he had been bummed he couldn’t really surprise me if he kept to the original one, so I let it go.
We went to a few stores, and I made sure to go to the one carrying Tacori last since I had my eye on that one. It was even more beautiful on my finger! Turns out, his aunt has some connection to a gemologist who might get him a deal on a rock, or he might even go the custom route and design a ring with similar key features. If he can save some money that will be great, but either way I’m exstatic he’s actively working on it =) Anyone else make progress over the holiday?

I feel like I was the person writing your post! I am in love with the tacori 2620 too and LOVE a cushion cut diamond but I think that setting would have to be custom made for this shape stone, as it is primarily designed for a round diamond…I know my bf likes a more classic look (he is cute and has lots of opinions when it comes to clothes/etc.) so I showed him the tacori2620rdmd which has the simple band but still has the micropave halo, ah so in love! x2! 🙂

Thanks for the excitement ladies!
@smiles731: I’m glad others love it like I do! And I did forget the diamond was round, it’s mostly the cushion outline I care about =). While I fell in love with that ring, it turns out his family friend is in the gem business and he is actually getting something custom made!
SO knows the basic elements I want know, and he wants to keep the rest of the process a surprise. I hope he can work in some of the pretty vintage-type details, but either way I know it will be great, and now it will be just for me!
