We got engaged this past weekend on 10/13/12 while on a trip to Austin, TX! We are both from Houston and are so happy to be engaged after just over 1 and a half years of dating. He took me to Mount Bonnell Saturday afternoon. I was really excited since I had never been there and couldn’t believe the view at the top. I love Houston, but Austin is seriously prettier to look at.
So here’s how he proposed: We climbed up the trail and found a little private area to look out over the water. I almost fell over the edge since I wore boots despite him telling me to wear tennis shoes for the surprise location, so I sat down on a rock. After sitting he just stood looking at me, so happy for a second, and then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I, of course, said yes and just buried my face in his chest and gave him a huge hug. After a minute I realized he needed to put on the ring so I let go and looked at the open box that he held. My thoughts were something like “Is this real life?” It was SO beautiful and perfect. He slipped it on my finger and I was so taken aback. We picked out my ring together, but I had never seen it in person. No Bee’s seemed to own the ring either. So it was really crazy for me to finally see it on my finger! I was so happy and it was very special. After he proposed we walked around a bit, but less than I would have liked since I caught a cold right before our trip! It also started sprinkling right after we got in the car. After leaving we went to have lunch at The Oasis, another must-see place in Austin. Here it started pouring and we just laughed at the luck we were having with me being sick and the weather.
It was a great weekend and I can’t wait to go on more trips with my fiancé! Now for the pics of where he proposed, the restaurant, and MY GORGEOUS RING! My ring is Eng859 from MoissaniteCo. It has a 1.25 ct Amora enhanced center stone and I wear a size 8.5. We opted for palladium as well since I’ve seen how my sister has to get her white gold ring re-dipped. It far surpasses my expectations and I have no idea why no one else has it! It is ridiculously distracting and pretty.

Of course as soon as we got in the car I was taking pics to send to friends & family!

First indoor pic! Wow soooo sparkly!
And finally some pics I took today in the backyard with my iPhone 5 of all things! Very impressed with how they came out!
And then a 4 sec video I took to show how much it sparkles in the sunlight:
