What a beautiful wedding!
What a beautiful wedding!
Wow!! This is absolutely gorgeous! The veil, the “cake”, wow. Just stunning!
ummmm WOW! so absolutely gorgeous! you are so beautiful, the pictures are perfect, and i love every detail of your wedding.
Absolutly stunning! Your wedding was very deco glam, with little personal details that were so nice. Were your invitations and stationary all DIY? Please tell me more about that… 🙂
Your wedding was one of the first recaps I ever read when I first started reading here and I still love it!
@vintagebride143: thank you. Yes all the stationary was DIY. Designed by DH and myself. Printed partially at home but some through vista print and some through cat print. And we put everything together. It took forever but it significantly cut down on the costs of our paper products.
@Meowkers: Your wedding makes me sad because we have such similar style. Black tie, formal, old Hollywood, art deco with a lot of DIY love.
But there are NO venues in Perth that are anything like yours! I wish! I’ve looked so hard 🙁
Point is though, I absolutely adore your wedding and your wedding is definitely my wedding crush – what I’d be happy to emulate totally 😀
Congrats! Gorgeous wedding!
@ParisM: awww thank you. I’m not sure how far you are into your planning or if this advice will help you, but I would suggest keeping an open mind regarding “themes” and chosing something that goes with the venue you choose.
When we started planning I had a lot of looks or themes I liked; romantic and soft, modern and bold, vintage travel, morrocan, etc etc. I was going to let the venue dictate what I went with. I think that’s why the look of my wedding turned out well, because it looks like it fits. I’ve seen other wedding at the same venue that went with like a rustic theme, fighting the venue, and it just didnt’ work. On the flip side, I’ve seen people try to do super formal glam wedding, in venues that are better suited for something rustic and natural. Again, didn’t work. So keep an open mind and i’m sure your wedding will turn out beautifully.
@Meowkers: Wow, that is really good advice thank you. I’ve been so stuck on finding a venue that fits with my theme that working the other way around didn’t really occur to me. I think if we didn’t do the dramatic formal style, it would be romantic and soft and modern.
The two venues we are considering at the moment – one is very modern and blingy (Swarovski details and chandeleirs) and the other is very elegant and classic and more suited to formal – our wedding would be in a permanent marquee with silk draped ceiling and 5 chandeleirs. Just a tough choice. Especially since one is a brand new up and comer and the other venue is a very common wedding venue, well regarded but still pretty common… Hmmmm. 🙂
Thanks for your help though, that definitely will help me. Just have to pick a venue! 🙂
