SO and I have been talking marriage for a while. Actually, I’VE been talking marriage for a while! In May, I moved in with him after saying I would never move in unless I had a ring on my finger. We had been having troubles with how little time we actually spent together and we almost split up until we agreed to make the move. Although there was no ring on my finger, there was the condition that we would get engaged by the time I started school at the end of November.
My relationship with SO has been wonderful since I moved in. We have had our share of arguments (mostly concerning household chores and his parents coming over) but nothing we couldn’t handle. The last few months have been hard waiting wise since I felt he wasn’t doing the things needed to prepare to get engaged: talk to my parents, get the ring, etc. Last night, after a hard waiting day, he finally told me that he had mentioned his plan of getting engaged to his parents. This is a big step for him since he never shares any of that personal stuff with them. He also told me that we could go ring shopping next weekend!
I’m excited to go ring shopping, but now I’m back to square one since I had a setting I already picked out and showed to him. None of the jewelry stores in our area carry a setting like the one I picked out. Also, even though I’m excited, I’m also a bit dissapointed that he hasn’t done his part in looking for rings or getting in contact with the jeweler that carries my setting. November 28th is coming fast and I feel like he’s been waiting until the last minute. Do any Bee’s have any advice on ring shopping or waiting?
