We are childfree and my Fiance had a vasectomey a few years ago.  I am glad too because afterward I found out my birth control was making my resting heart rate (but not blood pressure) go crazy!  We had decided on being childfree from the start and happily neither of us changed our mind.

Congrats I hate seeing women with kids who hate them (a coworker treats her daughter so bad and knows she hates kids in general so don’t have them). We are planning on having one and then snip snip for Fiance.

Yay! Congrats!

Fiance and I are don’t want kids and we went back and forth on what methods of preventing pregnancy we preferred and he finally decided that he would get a vasectomy. It probably won’t happen for another year or so but I am so excited!

Lucky girl!  All my friends who have had the snip say it’s SO liberating and freeing!

My DH was supposed to but doesn’t want to do it unless he can find a doctor that will completely knock him out.  I’m considering taking matters into my own hands.  I found out there’s a 30-day cooling period in my state… where you have to fill out forms and then wait.

For posters who’s DH or FH had the snip, I’ve been having this talk with my FH and he’s really reluctant because he feels like it will interfere with his “manhood”. Did any of you have this problem? What convinced your man to go through with the snip?

@SecretSharpie:  Woow, most guys are so scared of it, it’s great that he took this decision.

Congratulations, I do think is the best way to go if you don’t want to have kids, so easy and practical.

I dated a “V-man” once. It was great! No worries. Good luck to the both of you, hope his recovery is going well.

how long does it take until he’s deemed clear for unprotected sex after a vasectomy?  how many follow up appointments are there?
