Darling Husband and I found out last night that we are officially under contract on our first home and are set to close on March 30th!
We bought a new build home and we were told up front that they wouldn’t negotiate on the asking price (so as not to hurt the values of their other homes) but they would throw in “extras” for us. We asked for a whole laundry list of stuff and they gave us all of it (probably ~$15,000 worth of stuff)!
- $5000 in Closing Costs
- Blinds (Faux Wood) and screens on all windows
- Wraught Iron Fence w/ 2 Gates
- Stairs down to ground level from the Deck
- Stainless Steel Refrigerator (side by side doors with ice/water in door)
- Closet racks in the master closet
- Ceiling Fans (Bedrooms) – there is cuurently one in the master but none of the others
- Brushed nickel faucet in kitchen (replacnig the chrome one that is there)
- Concrete Pad below Deck
It’s a 4 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom home, with a finished walkout basement. It has 2780 sq ft, granite counters, tiled shower and separate soaking tub in the master, a marble gas fireplace, and a huge wooden deck. Behind the house is a small nature preserve so we won’t look out at another house – it will always have a pretty view.
I’m so excited and just had to share!

Love it! Congrats!! I love those Southern new constuctions homes. Even with new construction up north, many are still the traditional looking colonials and not modern looking like down south homes.

Thanks everyone! I can hardly believe we got so lucky in our search!
@LittleMissPolkaDot: The neighborhood was started by AGT Homes but the recently got bought out by SR Homes.
