I was a very small baby at 1lb, 13oz. Mind you, I was born 3-months premature. My/our DD was 8lb, 5oz. born at 41w exactly (like her father–8lb, 5oz, born at 41w). That being said, the day before DD was born I had a NS test and was told she looked like she was going to be about 9lb, 10oz. It was just her big pumpkin head, lol.

@Ugoob:  for what it’s worth, they thought my daughter would be 10 lbs and she ended up being only 8.9 lbs. I was 9.2 lbs.

As a twin, I was big! We were about a week late, and I was 8lbs 7 oz; my brother was 8lbs 13oz.   My mom’s second set of twins were the exact same weights as us.

@Ugoob:  ALL babies in my family are big. If we have a 7-8lbs baby, which is average, then that is a small baby to us. It is no big deal. Just don’t get to wear the tiny, little 0-3 months clothes very long. And it could mean a c-section, which is nothing to freak over, depending on your frame.

I was 8 lbs 15.5 oz,not sure if i was on time or late.  My brother was born a couple years later, he was almost 10 lbs.  Our mom is a petite lady.

My son was a tiny bit late and weighed 8 lbs 10oz.  I’m taller/bigger than my mom.  I felt like my son was plenty big when he was born.

@Ugoob:   I was tiny. I think I was 5lb 7oz. I’m positive on the pounds but not the ounces. DH was either 12 or 13lbs when he was born.  That will be interesting:-)

@Ugoob:  I was 8lbs 14oz, I think. They aren’t sure if I was early, late, or on time. They kept changing my mom’s due date around on her. So I’d say I was a medium-to-large baby. I sure look nice and chubby in pictures, at any rate.

Don’t worry too awfully much about the weight estimates they are giving you. From everything I’ve read, those tend to be pretty darn inaccurate. (Check out Henci Goer’s The Thinking Woman’s Guide to a Better Birth.)

The only consistent thing about ultrasound size guides is that they are inconsistent!

I was 6lbs 1oz 10 days early, my son was 6lbs 5oz 14 days early-

19 months in and he takes after me in almost every way- truly remarkable, poor daddy!

I was pretty decent, over 9 lbs, I was also the youngest of 3 so it might have something to do with it
