@GroovyHippieChick:  No. I was just giving more information to contribute to the thread. I wasn’t trying to be snarky with you.

I could only take a picture once I’d committed to buying it.

@stephko99:  Was this Eva’s in Oaklawn. Ugh, that place is terrible. I would ask about certain designers and to them that didn’t matter, it’s getting a dress. I have a background in fabric and tailoring and when I would look closely to some of the fabric on these dress’s consultant would rush me out. They don’t allow pictures and honeslty don’t know why. Even though I didn’t buy my dress there, they didn’t allow me to buy accessories such as veil, sash, earrings, there because I didn’t buy my dress. I would be careful going there. I’ve read many bad reviews on yelp. http://www.yelp.com/biz/evas-bridals-of-oak-lawn-oak-lawn#query:evas%20bridal

@mrsSonthebeach:  I know!  I did not detect any snark whatsoever!  Just my constant fear that I’ve misread the initial question of the thread.  Smile

I was not allowed in almost all the salons I went shopping at, however I did take pics if I got even one second alone in the change room, lol.

Davids Bridal was the only store to let me take pictures of dresses I tried on. All the others said no and even had signs up saying no pictures allowed

I couldn’t take any pictures either. I could understand the reasoning behind it, but I have to admit I was disappointed when they wouldn’t allow it after I had purchased it from them. I snuck a mirror pic but it wasn’t a good one.

Some of the stores I went to allowed pictures but others did not. Go figure the two dresses I fell in love with were at a store where I couldn’t take pictures. I looked one up online but the other one was a private label that only that salon carried and there were not pics anywhere online. Once I agreed to buy the dress I could take as many pictures as I wanted.

I have tried to avoid going to salons who don’t allow it… I find it super annoying. I am not the type of person to make such a huge decision on the spot, so I NEED pictures. To take home and look at myself in the dress again and make sure I still love it.

I just dot understand why they don’t allow it.

High end salons do not let any pictures until you buy the dress.

I’ve been to five different places and I’ve never had trouble taking pictures.  In fact, the sales lady has always been the person that took them for me.  I, like some other ladies, go home and sit on the decision for a while.  My family also lives out of state so it is nice to be able to get their feedback.  I’m not sure I’d consider a dress that I couldn’t take a picture of myself in.

Only after I said “yes to the dress”
