One month to the day… and if they hadn’t have taken me out, we both would’ve died from Lysteria. I then spent that extra month plus another in an incubator. Beware of dairy while pregnant, ladies.

My mom thought there was no way I would be born on my due date – December 11th – because that is my oldest sister’s birthday 🙂

Lo and behold, right during my sister’s 7th birthday party, my mom went into labor, and now my sister and I share our birthday! 🙂

I was born 5 days early, which was 3 days before my mom’s birthday. Many people in my family were hoping I would only be 2 days early so we would have the same birthday. Oh well.

My mother found out she was pregnant in January 1980, and given a due date of 29 September.  I was born 12 November.

Ridiculous I know so I’ll explain.

When my mother had my big brother she was induced and had an allergic reaction to whatever they used back then, as well she has an allergy to anaesthetic.  During the labour my mother suffered a cardiac arrest and my brother’s heart stopped beating for 2 minutes.  He then spent two weeks in an incubator.

When she fell pregnant again the doctors decided it would be best not to induce in case a similar thing happened again, and as she couldn’t have anaesthesia for a caesarean, they would just monitor us until little lazy bones decided to make an appearance.  As it turned out those extra few weeks could well be what saved me as I was born with some major heart complications as I had extra belly time to develop and get strong.  I was born a very healthy 9lbs 6oz.

I was late by at least a week, I’m not sure exactly how long. My daughter was 6 days late.

I was born on my due date. My mom had Gestational Diabetes, so she was induced…then was in labor for 18 hours…then I was born via C-section. I was ginormous and had no interest in coming out.
