I’ve never been required to buy specific shoes as part of being a Bridesmaid or Best Man, but the bride has usually had a generic requirement, like:

– 2-4″ heel, black, open toe

– no more than 3″ heel, metallc strappy sandal

Or something like that. If a bride ever wanted me to wear a speciic shoe, I would most likely not be able to comply; I have some foot problems and I wear a C width (which is too wide for a normal and too narrow for a wide width show), which means I wind up having to buy more expensive shoes most of the time. Specific brands work for me, and I’m reluctant to suffer and wind up limping for a few days because someone wanted me to wear a specific shoe that didn’t fit well.
