I look around on OnceWed and Preowned Wedding Dresses quite a bit, and in the last couple of months 2 or 3 unique/hard-to-find dresses that I really like have popped up (good prices too). I don’t think I would actually buy any of them right now, but I have thought about it once or twice. I’m pretty particular about what I want and sometimes I think, “What if we get engaged in a year or so and I can’t find anything I like as well as this?”. But I can’t predict right now exactly what kind of wedding we’ll have so I know it’s not practical. But they’re so pretty! 🙂
What about you ladies? Anybody this crazy? Don’t be shy! 😀

Before Fiance and I were engaged, Future Mother-In-Law tried to get me into a bridal salon to try on dresses. I told her I wasn’t setting foot in there until there was a ring on my finger! LOL!

I saw a dress in a bridal boutique window once (about the time the hubs and I had started talking marriage, but I didn’t have a ring), and I Googled it and found the designer. I was SO tempted to go in and try it on because the price was reasonable, but I never did.
And let me tell you … thank God! Our wedding style evolved quite a bit while we were planning and the dress I first saw was so far off from how I wanted up wanting to look on our wedding day.

It’s tempting, but you know what I decided to focus on instead? Looking for an engagement party dress!! 😀

I’m not going to lie about it, I’ve definitely thought about this. I decided against bc I’d be way too embarassed if my family EVER found out. I have very specific taste as well, and wonder what would happen if when the time comes, I have nothing to wear. I guess I’ll just have to figure it out then.

A dress? No, defintely not. But I did haunt every ‘design your own engagment ring’ site known to man.

Oh yes. I almost did once or twice (when I was single, boo me!). I kind of wish I would have bought the second one I looked at. It was GORGEOUS and marked down from $3000 to like $400 (it was 3 or 4 seasons old). Fit me like a glove too.
I like my dress though. I think it will be perfect!

I think I’m the only one who NEVER looked at wedding dresses (or wedding websites!) until we had a date set! I didn’t even know dresses take so long to come in, and was going to wait until my mom is in town in August to start looking (my wedding is in Brazil, in November). Good thing I then started going to boards and wedding websites!

I bought my dress before I was engaged! My hubby and I had been living together for about a year and a half and were started to talk about wedding plans (and had already been ring shopping, so I knew one was eventually coming). One of the things I looked forward to most was dress shopping with my mom, who lives 600 miles from me. She came to visit about a month before I got engaged and since I’m usually so indecisive, we decided to start dress shopping, thinking the search for my dress would take forever. Well, surprise, I adored the first dress I tried on (David’s Bridal V9010) and we bought it that day! My hubby proposed a month later! He still teases me about how I had a dress before I had a ring!

Nope never tought about it. Once and awhile I looked at dresses for fun online but I would have never thought to buy one..I wanted to wait until I was engaged before I started to plan anything. We were in no rush. There are millions of dresses out there! When the times comes you will find one you love!

Yes! I’m worried that my favorite Monique Lhuillier styles that keep popping up on OnceWed now will be extinct by the time I get engaged!!

no! i didn’t want to jinx anything…i did look at invitations and stuff online though…

Most certainly I have not, as I haven’t seen any that scream “zomg you neeeed meeee!”.
There’s also that business of being recently employed and trying to stock the coffers.

no no no no! I’m a big believer in “nothing’s guaranteed to happen until it happens”, and was afraid I would jinx myself. Bridal magazines were actually my biggest temptation, I would sit in the magazine store reading them but would never buy one until i had that rock.
