I voted other, because I was a little.  My dress had all the hallmarks I was looking for (a-line, flowy organza skirt, minimal embellishments, defined waist), but the bodice ended up being silk dupioni, when I initially was very against any shiny material whatsoever.

It is definitely not super shiny, but I was so set on matte everything.  I’m so glad the skirt of this one caught my eye and I tried it on πŸ™‚

not in the least… I knew I wanted straps, semi A line/ dropped waist with some embellishment, and v neck and that is exactly what I got. (but I tried on all types of different styles to be sure)

I want a princess style dress like Princess Diana or the  Walt Disney girls…. but I am only 5 feet, and it may not work….. I haven’t tried any on yet, so I may be wrong….

I haven’t dreamed of my wedding forever, but as soon as we got engaged I knew exactly the kind of dress I wanted, and that’s what I got! It is so me. I asked my fiance what he thought the dress would look like, and he described the dress to a tee. I think that’s a good thing though – I want to look like “me” on my wedding day!

I knew I wanted a satin, strapless, A-line dress, and its just what I got, and what looked good on me.  I was surprised to learn that fit-and-flare looked really good on me as well, but it just wasn’t the look I wanted for my dress.  But for future affairs I may go with a fit-and-flare!

I originally wanted v-neck, allover lace, fit-and-flare. I got a sweetheart halter in satin, with some beading on the bodice in a soft A-line.

I originally wanted a fitted mermaid, ended up with an A line with a huge tulle skirt…so opposite.

My dress is so not what I wanted, or what all my friends/family wanted for me. Myself and everyone else pictured me in something lace with zero sparkle and kind of a sheath style, ivory – NO POOF. I also kind of wanted sleeves, but it wasn’t a must have.

I ended up with (depending on who you ask) a trumpet/modified a-line, French Taffeta, bright white sweetheart strapless dress.

My Maid/Matron of Honor teases me and says I got the opposite of what I wanted, but to be fair, that’s not really true. I wasn’t 100% sold on lace, I was just drawn to it, but open to other options. The only things I said I absolutely DID NOT WANT were a corset back and a princess ballgown, and my dress isn’t either of those things! It’s still pretty simple and elegant, just a bit more modern than what I had in mind.

I wanted an organza fit and flare/mermaid dropped waist ruffle dress.

    I bought a satin sheath.
