Yes!!! I loved it and couldn’t stop thinking about it lol. When I lost it I was gutted!
Something I have learned, as I am sure most of you have … Every person has a different idea of what they think is beautiful. I read earlier in this thread that one woman thought Solitaires are boring, whereas I think solitaires are gorgeous and classic and prefer it over a halo ring. I think it’s pretty awesome seeing just how different we all are in our tastes and seeing everyone’s engagment rings.
With that said, YES, I was wowed by my ring. He took a picture that I had in my phone and had my ring made from that. It is a solitaire with a baguette on each side .. my dream ring. I love everything about it.
Like you I am drawn to beautiful unique but classy clothes, bags, and shoes, and jewlery. My wedding dress (which I posted and took down becuase it was torn apart by a few posters) is exactly that in my eyes. My fiance bought my dress and I had no budget which was extremely generous of him. Having said that my ring did WOW me. I have never thought about if it is my prettiest piece of jewlery that I own, but it is definitely my favorie because it symbolizes something.
I would recommend a custom ring. Getting amazing cut stones with lovely color is key. Check out Elle’s work The Gemstone Project (https://thegemstoneproject.com/). She’s wonderful to work with, has patience for days and is a colored stone expert. On your rings, I would find #1 very hard to wear. It has a lot of prongs and points to catch and scrath for an everyday ring. #2 is stunning, but that cetner is made of very very expensive custom/fantacy cut stones. But, it is unique and very wearable. Both of these rings will demand a very very large budget even if the stones are rather small. If you have the budget, have a look at colored diamonds?
Another custom option would be GreenLake (https://www.instagram.com/greenlakejewelry/), but their diamonds are a bit pricier. I’d tend to buy my diamond from Brian Gavin, James Allen or High Performance Diamonds (there are other too!) and have a setting desiged by Elle or Greenlake.
If you have the budget for it, this ring is amazing. The emeralds will need to be treated with care, but it is lovely. http://www.jewelsbygrace.com/rings/vintage-antique/2-12ct-antique-oval-diamond-emerald-halo-ring-gia-i-vs2#.WLasrDsrL-g
This sapphire is awesome. http://www.jewelsbygrace.com/rings/vintage-inspired/3-52ct-pink-sapphire-halo-ring#.WLatJzsrL-g
Have you checked out Heidi Gibson‘s rings? They are vintage inspired but have a modern feel, and are 100% customizable with size, metal colour, stone type/colour, everything! They are classic while still making a statement. I personally will be choosing a solitaire with compass prongs for my e-ring, but I am hoping to get one of these gorgeous rings for an RHR one day!
Definitely my nicest pieces of jewelry
I definitely was wowed. I own no jewelry at all, except for an heirloom ring from my grandmother. So having a piece of actually rather nice jewelry was a totally new experience to me. I also picked out the ring online, but when I saw it I felt that I had never seen anything so beautiful in my entire life. It was so sparkly!
I really was! He got me something I never would have picked out on my own but I figured out early on in the shopping process that I didn’t actually like any of the rings on my Pinterest. And we just ordered my wedding bands (I’m getting two) so that I can have the thicker band look without having massive finger coverage!
