What a great idea to marry in a zoo! My partner is wayyy more excited about the wedding preparations than me. His organising the whole wedding; my only role is write the wedding invitation text and sew the wedding dress and the suit. Works perfectly for us as my partner is very attention to detail whilst I am not, and his profession involves him managing large-scale film shoots, so a wedding is a very ‘small-scale’ project for him.

1judejude :  My partner is also super excited about the wedding ring (100 times more excited than me). In fact, he chose our matching wedding ring designs and is also organising a weekend trip so we can meet the ring designer. I let him chose the wedding ring as I chose the ering.

I have my absent father’s last name so since we got engaged I’ve said I would definitely be changing my name and the other day Fiance said- “”TWO WEEKS til we throw out your “S” and make you an “M”!” It was cute that we’re both excited to have that tangible change.

He’s also out of the country and was being SO PARTICULAR about his suit as I was picking it out, and I was getting frustrated and he was like “Hey! I need to look amazing on the best day of my life- I want you to be proud of what you’re walking down the aisle towards!” I mean, I’d marry that man in a tank top in a Burger King but it’s sweet that he’s as into it as I am 😉

Fi is always telling me that this is a big thing for him because its a promise that we will be making before God. I wanted to do something very intimate but he insisted that he wanted a big wedding.  He has been into everything from the tablecloths, the food to the church. I think that he is so excited because his family was very poor and  they never had any weddings or any type of big celebrations before and now that he has a career he is able to afford it and enjoy the experience.  I am happy that he is so excited and now I am dreaming with our wedding day.

I can tell Fiance is excited about certain aspects. But I think ultimately he won’t show any emotion about it until the day of. Thats just how he is.

bulma :  What a cute story! My SO is extremely excited about the wedding planning process. He loves when I bring anything up anything that’s related to the engagement / wedding planning and I do that a lot! I got my first glimpse of his excitement when we went to look at one of our venues. Lol I thought this process be overwhelming for him because we have to plan three weddings because of our culture but it makes planning for the weddings easier knowing that he wants to be involved as well.

bulma :  Oh that sounds amazing! We’re doing our ceremony in the waterfall gardens of the zoo and are currently planning for where we want to do the reception. Either going to be near the giraffe exhibit, butterfly gardens, or learning center! I’m going to follow your stuff as well, would love to share ideas. Our reception we’re even having a couple of the zoo keepers bring out some animals (porcuipines/hawks/snakes and the like) for little mini animal encounters, and we are soooo excited.

He wasn’t much into researching and looking up wedding stuff like me, but he’s every bit as excited as I am when I find new things/info that we didn’t know to share with him, or just to show him various dress/flower/decor/cake/venue pictures that I like.
