My mom has similar dishes and I’d just like to warn you that they aren’t exactly microwave safe. The metal (my mom’s are silver lined) will spark and burn in the microwave until it finally wears off. Just an FYI…

My grandma and great aunt got us 3 sets of this set from stokes (and I quote ‘that’s 8 place settings and 4 breaks’). We registered for a random set from Sears but we ended up liking this better. I just don’t like how you can’t really easily drink the milk out of the bowl when you’re done your cereal.

twistaway:  We registered for Kate Spade NY Charlotte Street Pattern and really like our dishes.

When you ask for recs, are you specifically looking for the metallic rimmed look? I would guess that nothing with that feature is truly microwave safe because of the metal.

I LOVED the mettalic rimmed at West Elm but decided to not register bc they aren’t microwave safe, so we will also be registering for the Noritake Colorwave

That’s sort of what I have done. I have the beautiful maze blue dinnerware  serving platters and along side that I have all white stoneware and  everything else for the kitchen is white. My husband and I were both very pleased with the dishes.

Just a note on West Elm: I would check with them about if any of the dishes you like are dishes they always carry vs. what will be in store for 6 months or so.  You want to make sure you don’t register for anything that will go out of stock before your guests have a chance to look at your registry.  Also, if a single plate was to break, you wouldn’t be able to replace it if they style was out of production.

I also registered for the KSNY Charlotte Street dinnerware – we did a mix of the East and North patterns.  I really like them and so far, they are holding up well to use and the dishwasher.
