Im Jamaican and as far as traditions go I dont really think there are many…but i will tell u what i know. Black cake, Sorrel and Ginger Beer (all home made) is a must, lol. Me and mommy in the kitchen cooking early morning yesss, lol. Breakfast will be ackee and saltfish with fried dumpling and a cup of ginger tea. We are cooking our own food for the wedding…. this way we will get exactly what we want and everyone will enjoy, Mommy would not have it any other way 🙂 Im having a late evening wedding so I dont mind at all…. Jamaican food of course (fried fish, brown stew chicken, jerk chicken, rice and peas, plantain, cabbage..just to name a few, lol) and ALOT of music. From the time we wake up til the time the wedding is ending music will be playing all day long. Something about the music makes days like that special… nothing like some Beres and Sanchez 🙂 We will play mostly 80’s and 90’s reggae and dancehall at the reception…. during dinner smooth 80’s and 90’s reggae mixes will play…. then afterwards when its dancing time the slower reggae will roll over into reggae dancehall then dancehall….all clean music 🙂
