WBC does this for every high profile death, it’s nothing new. It’s horrible every time they do it, but it’s not going to stop as long as they exist. They’ve already beaten challenges to their “protests” in the SC.

I fear for you that you consider him any kind of role model. Regardless of his antics (funny or stupid, depending on the person), no kind of role model gets into a car with 2x the legal blood alcohol limit and does 130 in a 55mph zone. It’s a wonder he didn’t kill anyone innocent. I’m sorry, it is always tragic to lose a young life, but it is maddening when people take these kind of liberties and endanger the lives of everyone else on the road. Too often it’s the unsuspecting bystander that ends up dead because of it.

@Meowmixsong1121: That is so disrespectful for those people to do that!

they are the ones that protest military funerals too…as far as military is concerned they are all heros. even the ones that screw up they started in the military with their hearts in the right place. and when it comes to ryan dunn , of all the stupid crap he has done in his life and he dies in a car accident i think its like a cop out. he could have died doing something way crazier…

Westboro Baptist Church just sickens me. Hearing about their protests of military funerals and now this, I can’t believe people can be so cruel and harbor so much unjustified hatred. It just makes me sad that there are people like that out there that find nothing wrong with it. Our servicemembers are heroes, and the ones who make the ultimate sacrifice for their country give WBC the right to do the hateful things they do. As for Ryan Dunn, I wasn’t really a Jackass fan, but his story is sad and tragic, and while a lesson can be learned from it, he most certainly does not deserve to have his funeral protested.

The Westboro Baptist Church is comprised of what have to be some of the WORST human beings on the planet. I’ve actually been to their website (which has such a LOVELY name…) and all they talk about is groups/demographics that God supposedly hates. They’re not actually in support of anything other than being bigots and letting the world know about it.

I promised Mr. Fish that if he dies in combat and they protest his funeral, I’ll do my best to punch one of them in the face for him. Sure, it’s an assault charge, but I can guarantee that I’d get bailed out of jail before they had time to file my paperwork.

I was reading about the funeral in the paper the other day and I don’t think anyone wound up protesting. The paper posted that they were going to be in the area to protest, but there was not a follow up article stating that they did and the article about the funeral didn’t mention it? Maybe they said they were going to but never did. I think the service was yesterday or Wednesday?

I’m only so interested in this because it happened really close to my work. The paper has had stuff non stop all week about it. I saw a picture of a chunk of the car in the woods in a gallery the paper put up online, and my first thought was that people are going to be digging in the woods and selling things they find. I really hope that the rescue crew goes through the woods again and gets every last piece of the car. Makes me sick that people would actually TAKE pieces of the wreck. I still can’t believe 1. how fast he was going and 2. how drunk he was. It makes me think twice about driving around late at night. He easily could have taken out another car. On the other hand, it is always sad when young people are killed, regardless of the situation. I have mixed feelings about it since he and his friend were so young, which makes it tragic, but there was high speed and alcohol involved. sigh.
