So excited! After months of doing little pieces here and there as we save up, our wedding day is becoming more vivid and clear! 🙂 I posted this on my blog, but just wanted to share with you, Bees!
FYI: We’re getting married at a lovely and romantic courtyard at my University (photo below)
The photo above is just to give you a visual of what it can look like on our day! Isn’t is beautiful?!
Our theme is: Key to my heart (funny to think we first met in highschool in front of a locked classroom door!) We’re having an overall Vintage Courtyard Romance vibe, with a little bit of a whimsical Secret Garden effect.
Our colors (we put our fav colors together): Blue & Green
I made this inspiration board to give you an ideal picture of our wedding day, foot-washing ceremony, key boutineers, table centerpieces, crystal chandelier hanging from the gazebo and all…
The fiance and I love it! It matches our personalities and it is a reflection our story and our relationship, which is exactly what we want. He is the key to my heart. The decor is nice and wonderful, but in the end our goal is to create a simple, yet beautiful space to make the spectacle of it all our marriage. After all, this is what weddings are about: becoming One.
How is everyone’s planning coming along? Please feel free to share your photos, ideas, inspiration boards, etc! I can never get enough of inspiration…

@Eva Peron: You’re too sweet. Thanks so much! 🙂 I try to be organized, and doing most things online seems to be the best route for now. I bought a wedding tote to hold papers, receipts, etc. (I’ll be using that more often soon).
@Treejewel19: That’s wonderful! Chandeliers are just so romantic; there’s nothing quite like them! I’m sure your wedding is going to be magical.

I’m dying to know your details as well, Bees! 🙂

I love it! I have a key necklace that I call the “key to my heart” – When my husband and I were first dating, I wore it a lot and when I joked that it was the key to my heart, he grabbed it and wore it around the rest of the day. haha.
The bouts in the photos are so cute, and you could probably have a key hanging from your bouquet too. Just be sure not to have too many keys. The bouts/flower accents and maybe a small image repeated in your paper goods will be just perfect. I love the inspiration centerpeice with the lantern – it’s good to incorporate other motifs so that the key thing doesn’t get overwhelming.

@melodicsighs1: That is such a sweet story about how he is the key to your heart. Awe, I love that 🙂
As an artist, I have a pretty picky eye on what goes with what and I’m very concerned on not over-doing things–but I need to stay in check every now and then because I will over-do things without thinking! Since I love our theme so much, I will have to be cautious not to go overboard; it can be easy to forget when I’m not looking at the whole picture. I love how you suggested to add a key to my bouquet and having an image of the key/flowers on our stationary. That would be gorgeous. Thanks so much!

@Miss. Snowball: Awe, thank you. We love it! During our dating years, I invited the fiance to a play at my university. It was late and we walked over in this courtyard and held each other, slow danced a little, and talked about sweet things I can’t remember. I could just see us getting married here. And I guess ever since then this venue has won me over 😉
