Darling Husband and I have finally narrowed down our options for a girl’s name….
What does the hive think?
ETA: We like all of them, but I’m struggling with “popularity”. My name is VERY unique and my sister had a very popular name… she always had 3-6 girls in her class with the same name.
While I don’t want anything too “out there”, I don’t want something that’s uber popular either.
Gosh picking names are hard. lol

@runsyellowlites: ah I love all of them!! they’re so cute and feminine. do you feel like any stick out in your mind more than another when you imagine calling her, scolding her, signing a christmas card? (is that weird that’s something I think about? LOL).

@sorrycharlie: Not weird at all! On that babynamegenie I posted a few weeks ago, you can actually “test drive” a name and it gives it in a bunch of statements… “xxx pick up your toys” “Have you met xxx xxx?” “Please contact xxx xxx” It was pretty neat.
We like Penelope the best (I think) and like Reilly too, but I REALLY don’t want a super popular name & Reilly is DEFINITELY up there. =/

I’m not a huge fan of the “last name as first name” trend, so I personally wouldn’t go with Reilly. I really like both Sadie and Penelope, but I voted for Penelope.

@CharmCityLady: Oh wow… I never even thought about that being a “last name” lol Makes perfect sense though =)

@CharmCityLady: agree. I voted for Penelope too. I also think Sadie sounds too much like a nickname to be a full first name. I think Sophia Claire would be beautiful though!

Penelope is very pretty and not overly-popular. Reilly might be problematic for some people to spell (since “Riley” seems to be the more common, similar spelling). Not a reason necessarily to throw it out, but I know people with uncommon spellings who hate having to constantly correct people.

I think they are all cute! I voted Sadie Claire for a few reasons. It’s the easiest (Penelope is kind of a mouthful I guess) and it’s not the most popular (I know a few Reilly/Reilley/Riley’s).

@MrsEdamame: Yea… definitley know it WILL be misspelled often. The meaning is different for this spelling than all the others, which is why we picked it. =)
I’ve only met ONE person in my entire 26 years that has spelled my name right the first time. lol (I’ve always liked the uniqueness though) =)
