Thanks to some sweet words of encouragement I received from some very kind bees yesterday I made the decision to bring the ring shopping topic up one last time. I very casually but directly brought it up. He was like, “yeah, gosh it’s been so hectic for the last week or so… hmm, when were you thinking? How about now? Let me go change…” and the next thing I knew we were driving to the jewelry store!
We immediately found the perfect setting that we both fell in love with. It was literally the first setting my eye spotted. And while slightly different from the simple setting I had envisioned, I can’t imagine finding anything more perfect. We also got a lot of great information/education on how we should go with picking the right stone. We agreed that the purchase of the setting will come after we’ve figured out exactly what we want for the center stone. Mainly we need to come to an agreement on size/price.
I can’t believe how nervous I was! The jeweler even joked about how my hand was shaking so much it really showcased the sparkle of the ring. All of my online research could not have prepared me for that experience.
After we left the store we had to stop by his parents’ house to drop off a b-day gift. At one point he unexpectedly announced to his mom & sister that we had just left the jewelry store where we were picking out a ring for me.
It’s feeling much more real now! Can’t wait to get that beauty on my finger & make it official!
